Dance Lessons in Boston MA - Waltz, Tango, Ballroom

Street Dance, including Hip Hop, Popping, Locking,
Boogying, Breakdancing, Breaking, B-boying, or
B-girling is a blend of popular styles of dance that
were born and developed as partof hip-hop culture
among African Americans and Latino youths in
Bronx, New York in the 1970's. As a hip-hop dance,
it is usually danced to hip hop music, and
incorporates intricate body movements, strong
acrobatic moves, coordination, style, spontaneity,
and fashion. The dancers often participate in
battles, formal or informal dance competitions
between dancing crews. Street dancing is
considered a good exercise and helps the dancers
to improve flexibility, to develop body balance, and
coordination.

Star Dance School specializes in competitive dancing
training. Children will be taught the technical aspects of
ballroom dancing and will also be trained physically through
strength and endurance exercises. Whether or not the
child is dancing with a teacher or a fellow student, he/she
will be fully prepared to compete from learning proper
dance technique to being properly dressed and groomed.
The instructors at Star Dance School will be there at the
competitions to coach and encourage the kids to perform
to the best of their abilities.

Star Dance School provides group and private dance
classes for children five years and older.
Dance is an exciting way for children to develop
important social skills that lead to success both at
school and throughout their lives. In our S ocial D ance
C lasses we teach Classical Ballroom Dancing,
Street or Social Latin Dancing, and Rock 'n' Roll. These
dance classes are a stepping stone towards
competitive dancing, or Dancesport, and
are a great confidence builder.
